Thanksgiving has never been a huge holiday at my house. Likely because my parents are immigrants and the little fact that we're vegetarian, so we can't really eat turkey. Regardless, all the movie scenes and TV episodes dedicated to Thanksgiving has given me an unquenchable thirst for an honest to god thanksgiving. But once again, my family has made other Thanksgiving arrangement. This year it's a cousin's engagement party.
So I decided to throw an early Thanksgiving. Partly to finally have my Thanksgiving and partly to prove my family's doubts regarding the plausibility of a vegetarian thanksgiving wrong. So I put together this delicious menu drawing from my Southern roots, Indian heritage, and of course Thanksgiving traditions.
To keep things interesting, I'll post the full menu today and follow with specific recipes for the dishes everyday this week! And as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts or about your own thanksgivings!
