So unfortunately, the internet at my house is out! We're living like the prehistorics and seriously feeling every minute (have you tried blogging from a phone? Not fun!) So to combat our technology-less lives, my sister and I decided to finally try out some of the cool new Sarasota spots! We started at this ultra-hip (especially for the very WASPy Sarasota area) coffee shop! Loved the vibe of this place! And they had those cool drip coffee brewers! For the first time is the States, I had non-burnt coffee!
Then we headed to this restaurant called Louie's Modern. For the most part Sarasota has traditionally had good bit very safe food. Recently however, we've been graced with some bolder menu, restaurants, and chefs. Louie's is defiantly one of these places! One of the things I loved was the extensive and incredibly creative vegetarian selections. I got this amazing quinoa curry burger....so good! The highlight of our meal, however, was the burrata. Served on a slab of Himalayan pink salt and served with freshly baked bread, this burrata was a masterpiece! We ended our meal with a Black Forest cake, which while delicious, couldn't really compete with the rest of the meal! Overall the food was great and we're already planning our next visit!
